Learn Water-Gilding

This online course teaches the art of water-gilding from start to finish with a heavy emphasis on leaf laying. Students will learn how to prepare surfaces for water-gilding and how to antique, seal and tone water-gilding.

Students receive a box in the mail that includes all the prepared surfaces, prepared timber ornamentation, gilding tools, genuine leaf including genuine silver, 12K, 16K, and 23K gold leaf, materials, ingredients and recipes that they will need to learn gilding and will be able to continue to use these to practice their new skill after the course finishes.

Learn Oil, Acrylic and the Basics of Water-Gilding

This online class teaches the basics of all three gilding types where students will learn using faux and genuine leaf to gild on prepared surfaces. Students will learn how to prepare surfaces for gilding, lay faux and genuine leaf and tone, antique and seal gilding. Students gild three timber ornamental plaques allowing them to showcase their skills in the three gilding methods.
